MOJAM at CTO fwdays’24

You remember one of our core values, — “Be PRO,” right?  We challenge ourselves daily with a sporting spirit and never stop 🚀 Walk the talk! Being a friend and a Golden Partner of the CTO fwdays’24 conference on November 16 in Kyiv is an opportunity to stay on top of the latest technical updates and support the IT community 👌🏻 But let’s tell you all about it step by step!

Gold Partners…Again!

Yes, we’ve already supported another important technical conference — Software Architecture fwdays’24. It was also in Kyiv in September. We’ve already shared the mojamers’ thoughts in the article.🤞🏻 It was truly amazing! There were no generic phrases — just practical cases and recommendations.

What stuck with us from CTO fwdays’24

It was basically the highest concentration of tech leads, team leads, CTOs, and future CTOs all packed into one space 😁 Tons of practical questions, real-life case breakdowns, heated discussions, and, as a bonus, ready-to-use solutions. Ten experts spilled the tea on scaling, streamlining processes, snagging investments, managing like a PRO, and a whole lot more.

  • It was interesting to listen to such PROs — CTOs, after all. They always have stories and cases that can be really useful
  • Once again, I’m convinced that beyond laziness, major incidents and production downtimes are the true drivers of progress. Dmytro Dziubenko shared an interesting talk, presenting his experience in reducing the blast radius by dividing systems into sectors
  • One of the most captivating presentations was about RozetkaPay, a domestic fintech project that managed to grow under the incredibly challenging conditions of war. I was struck by how regulated the fintech domain is — you can’t rely solely on technical solutions. There are countless regulators, standards, and auditors that can turn your project upside down in a matter of minutes. While this kills some of the dynamics, it undoubtedly increases reliability. But it’s probably inevitable when it comes to safeguarding credentials and financial flows
  • I was pleasantly surprised to see that in the age of cloud giants (AWS, Google, Azure), there’s still room for smaller players, especially Ukrainian ones. A great example is De Novo, which, in some cases, even led the way in certain functionalities
  • Serhij Harntsarik shared insights and advice on strategies for managing people during project closures, crises, layoffs, and so on. I learned the importance of increased communication with subordinates and the team. It’s also crucial to fight for valuable employees because the turbulence from their departure or future hiring can be much greater than expected
  • From Ihor Zakutynskyi, I learned that PDP (Personal Development Plan) is an essential part of fostering a healthy atmosphere in a team and company. Every manager should focus not only on completing business tasks but also on developing their team and employees. PDP works best on a small scale when the number of subordinates can be counted on one hand. This allows for a more personalized approach. People tend to value it more than a generic one. It’s also pretty cool to manage PDP as tasks in Jira — I might try this for my QA team
  • I was impressed by the pace and sophistication of the organized processes at Fozzy Group. Igor Drozd shared his experience, and I took note that quality metrics can be conveniently visualized in Grafana using data from Jira

The vibe of the event is also perfectly captured in the reels straight from the action! We are waiting for your likes and comments (you’re following us on Instagram, right? 😇):

What’s Coming Up

MOJAM is supporting another event — DevOps fwdays’25. Let’s catch up on February 22, both offline (in Kyiv) and online, to learn more about DevOps practices and tools.

Join us and sign up for the conference! 😉 You’ll find the program and all the details on its website. There’s also a link to the Telegram chat where you can ask questions, set up some cool networking, and even pitch yourself as a speaker!

Summary: why we’re always up for that level-up 😝

  • We work remotely from all over the world and don’t get many chances to hang out with our teammates. So we grab every opportunity — and we suggest you do the same!
  • Our team checks out every conference program carefully and only goes to the ones we’re genuinely excited about.
  • We love that the organizers donate part of the conference’s revenue to charity. Happy to be part of something good!

Catch you at DevOps fwdays’25! 👋🏻
