We are looking for a Legal Counsel to own our day-to-day legal operations and be the primary legal point of contact across the company. You will work directly with the partnerships, product, and marketing teams, and manage our relationship with an external senior legal team that handles complex regulatory and strategic matters. This is a solo role for now, with a clear path to building a function around you as we scale. 📍 What to Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate influencer and content creator marketing agreements — this is the highest-volume work, with 5–10 agreements per month across various formats and geographies
- Handle B2B service agreements, NDAs, insertion orders, LOIs, and addenda with technology, advertising, and data partners
- Review and red-flag esports sponsorship agreements at standard tier before escalating more complex deals to the external team
- Manage the full contract lifecycle: from first draft to counterparty negotiations, execution via DocuSign, and registry maintenance
- Maintain and update Terms of Service and Privacy Policies across company products as features evolve
- Review promotional mechanics, giveaway structures, and marketing copy for compliance with applicable consumer protection standards
- Provide quick-turnaround legal input to the product team on new feature rollouts
- Handle subject access requests, data deletion requests, and standard GDPR correspondence
- Review and negotiate DPAs with vendors and service providers
- Support routine compliance checks and internal data protection documentation
- Draft and review responses to player complaints, refund requests, and escalated user correspondence
- Manage escalation to the external legal team where appropriate
- Run the company’s contract registry and agreement tracking system
- Act as the internal legal coordinator across departments, ensuring the right people are looped in on the right matters without creating bottlenecks
- Manage task flow with our external legal team: prioritizing requests, tracking progress, and escalating where senior expertise is needed
🦸 Your Superpowers
- 2–4 years of legal experience, with a meaningful portion in commercial and contracts work either in-house or at a law firm with a strong commercial practice
- Demonstrable ability to draft and negotiate contracts independently, not just review and comment
- Solid working knowledge of GDPR and data protection fundamentals
- Genuine familiarity with the gaming, esports, or content creator ecosystem. You understand how the space works, who the key players are, and why it is becoming more complex legally
- Fast and reliable: the team will measure you partly by whether they ever have to chase you for a status update. If proactive communication is natural to you, you will thrive here
- Commercially minded: you understand that your job is to enable the business to move, not to slow it down. You know when to push back hard and when to find a workable middle ground
- Comfortable operating as a solo function without a legal team around you
- Organized: you will be managing a live contract registry and multiple concurrent workstreams at all times

- Familiarity with Valve’s IP policies, the Steam ecosystem, or CS2 and skin trading platforms
- Prior in-house experience, even as a secondment
