Still think team building is just about Friday pizza and office board games? What if you took it a step further — and truly united your team through a shared hobby that actually excites everyone? In our case, that activity is gaming. At MOJAM, we’ve been strengthening our BRO culture for several years now and motivating teammates to get to know each other beyond their work teams through internal Counter-Strike tournaments. Now, we share what inspired us to launch these events, how we organize them, and — of course — some honest feedback from our mojamers. 🚀
Why Are CS Tournaments a Must-Have for Us? 🤔
From the very beginning, we picked up the idea of hosting tournaments thanks to our teammates’ initiative — and it turned out to be a perfect match for our crew. Here’s why:
- We’re a BRO & PRO company that creates gaming products, including those for Counter-Strike. So, the gaming spirit is deeply embedded in the DNA of all our internal and external activities.
- People-first is our constant approach. At MOJAM, we always aim for the WOW effect — giving teammates a space to express themselves, shine, and have fun.
- Tournaments are a great way for MOJAMers to level up their CS skills. In our team, we’ve got both Counter-Strike MVPs with 10,000+ hours in the game and those who are just beginning their CS journey. Playing together gives everyone a fresh perspective — helping us better understand the psychology, needs, and habits of both beginners and seasoned pros. These insights, in turn, help us create even better gaming products tailored to different types of players.

Our Epic Tournament Flow 🔥
Training for an epic event makes up 80% of its success — that’s why we pay close attention to every detail during organization and always integrate player feedback. Having already hosted nine tournaments so far, we’ve built a PRO-level approach that maximizes both comfort and fun for our teammates:
- True Team. We form teams through a short survey that helps us get to know each participant’s level. We ask about their total hours in CS, highest rank or Premier points, and FACEIT level. Hence we understand everyone’s skill set and create the most balanced teams for fair, exciting matches. We also check whether a teammate wants to trust the organizers to assign them to a team or prefers to form their own MOJAM squad. To help everyone connect and vibe faster, we prepare player cards with short bios and fun details. As a result, team lineups change with every tournament — and that’s part of what makes it so awesome.
- Hard Skill Boost. Next, we help teammates level up their gameplay with guidance from industry experts. We’ve invited captains of real esports teams who served as coaches for each participating squad two times so far. It’s an opportunity not just to identify “blind spots” in the game, but also to refine strategies before the competition. Plus, it’s a great way for teams to build synergy, improve communication, and catch the right vibe before the big match.
- Major-Level Production. We turn our internal tournament into a real esports event. The MOJAM team goes full production mode — we invite a caster, launch a YouTube livestream, and create an ambiance you can truly feel, even from a spectator’s chair. So even those mojamers who aren’t playing can still feel the thrill, the emotions, and be part of the action.
- Work Hard, Play Hard. We reward tournament winners with unique artifacts — one-of-a-kind trophies that you can’t buy or replicate anywhere. Each award is personalized and crafted to perfection, making it a true symbol of victory and team spirit. Check out the trophies from our previous tournaments below 👇

What Do Teammates Say? MOJAM Tournaments Through the Players’ Eyes 🤜🤛
All the effort was worth it in the end — teammates truly noticed the level of detail, dedication, and how deeply the company embraces gaming culture to the max. Semen, SMM/Content Specialist, shared his thoughts:
“Let’s start by simply saying that this is the first company I’ve worked at that actually hosts tournaments, even though I used to work in esports teams. That alone boosts the work vibe here to a cosmic level. I can’t skip over the organization quality: professional contractors handle it, there’s a live online broadcast with commentators, and after the tournament, we get highlight reels from all the matches. And the unique trophies too — I could write a whole essay about those! Each time they’re new, more detailed, and just cooler overall.
MOJAM is a truly unique place because everyone is somehow connected to their hobby — which makes people approach work differently than in traditional companies. I’m not saying classic team building doesn’t work, but here this format really shines. Even teammates who don’t play CS might congratulate you on your win at the next day’s meeting — simply because they’re genuinely interested in following what’s happening.”
Content Manager Oleksandr sees the tournaments as an amazing opportunity for team bonding:
“I really enjoy the format of our internal tournaments because it brings together several things at once — team spirit, the excitement of competition, and the thrill of winning prizes among players of similar skill levels. During the game, you get to see sides of people that aren’t always visible at work — some become shot-callers, others shine individually, and some show more emotion than usual. It really brings the team closer, because after the tournaments we have tons of inside jokes and memes. I still remember one clutch from a teammate in my squad — we were losing, he was left 1v5, and somehow pulled off the round. It didn’t bring us victory in the match, but it gave us an unforgettable emotional high.”
For Recruiter Roman, MOJAM tournaments are true highlight moments of the year at work:
“I’ve been with the company for quite a while, and since 2021 I’ve fully supported the idea of organizing tournaments — so I was thrilled when we finally launched them. For me, MOJAM tournaments are far more valuable than even things like gym benefits or English lessons. It’s something unique — something you look forward to for a long time and prepare for with excitement. I love absolutely everything about them — from the format to the prizes. Most importantly, it’s not just about fun; it’s a shared activity with your team, where your communication determines whether you win (or lose) together. Can’t wait for the next tournament and the new formats to come!”
Level Up Your Team Time to a PRO Level🏆
For us, corporate culture isn’t some 9-to-5 formality — it’s a shared mindset. It’s about having a shoot-for-the-stars vision, a PRO approach to bringing ideas to life, and genuine camaraderie within the team. “Jamming” together has become more than a metaphor — it’s a way of life and the foundation for every corporate event we organize.
As Internal Communications Specialist Anastasia, the mastermind behind our CS tournaments, puts it:
“In the end, the tournaments are all about boosting team spirit and creating a real rush of emotions. Yes, it’s mostly the same people who play every time, but that level of synergy helps forge new connections. Plus, it’s a great way to bring in new teammates who share our vibe.”
So don’t limit yourself to the same old team-building formats — when it comes to creativity, the sky’s the limit. 🚀
