Of all the special days, Kharkiv Day holds a unique spot for MOJAM, as it’s where our journey began and where many of our teammates still live and work. That’s why a big chunk of our support for Ukraine goes to the Kharkiv direction, aiding specific units of the Armed Forces and territorial defence. We regularly report on our contributions on our page.
To honour this day, we kicked off a super motivating charity fitness initiative for Kharkiv kids alongside our friends at the “Maya” Foundation, which raises school backpacks for children. The MOJAM Charity Challenge was a win-win idea showing how taking care of yourself can multiply good deeds for kids who need support.
Spoiler alert — we raised $2,460, which means 13 children from Kharkiv region now have everything they need to study comfortably. Here’s how it all worked:
The concept
We wanted to encourage more movement since we’re a fully remote team mostly at our desks. So, we converted our kilometres into donations.
Every 5 km added $5 to our donation pool. Participants could walk, run, cycle, or hit the gym. We used the Strava app to track our progress and shared weekly leaderboards.
Mojamers cheered each other on with likes and comments, tracking everyone’s progress across the globe.
Our geography
Since our team works from all over, we clocked kilometres from Bali to the forests near Toronto, on Portugal’s coast, and through the streets of Kharkiv, Berdychiv, Vinnytsia, and Kyiv. It was amazing to feel united, driving good deeds in Ukraine!
What kept us moving?
This wasn’t just a challenge; it was a great way to add more movement into my life — for a great cause! 💃

I’m back to making fitness a part of my daily life, and staying active is just what I do 🏋️♂️
Zhenia
For me, most rides were a chance to relax and cycle through parks. And helping kids along the way — what could be better? 🚴♂️🌳

Our results
We clocked in a collective 1,230 km, equalling $1,230 in donations. But that wasn’t all! MOJAM doubled the amount, and our most active teammates chose to donate more instead of gifts, bringing the total to $2,610 for the kids!
This challenge showed that even small efforts can change lives. We’re keeping the momentum going. This time, we helped 13 young students continue their education, providing them with full school kits and tablets for uninterrupted online lessons.
